Until the end of this year, Amazon is offering up to $10 off your next purchase through their Gift Card Reload Program. The gift-card reload program is basically a credit to your Amazon account which you can later (or soon thereafter) use to purchase products through Amazon, of course.
It works like a gift-card you would normally give to a friend, but you give to yourself. You can then use the balance of this gift-card to purchase items as you normally would. The current offer is $10 on your first-reload over $100 (terms here). The reload process is not immediate, so be careful when using this and trying to apply the gift-card balance to your cart. For me, it took about 5 minutes. Once the reload had been applied, I was then able to use the gift-card balance on my cart.
Along with the free $10, you can also use your Amazon Prime rewards card for the reload, and in the process apply any Amazon rewards points towards the gift-card purchase. In my case I had 4000 points, which converted to $40.00, so my $110 gift-card to myself cost me $60.
My recommendation are:
- Reload the gift-card first (over $100)
- Wait 5 minutes or so to make sure the reload finishes processing. You can check under “Orders“.
- Shop amazon as you normally would.
- When you get to checkout, make sure to use the Gift-card balance payment option
- Viola, you are done.
