Arya, The Princess of the North?

WARNING: Spoilers below...

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 8 years, you are aware of Game of Thrones. Perhaps you are not a fan, but you have heard of it. Therefore, you would be familiar with the various main characters in the show. From the drunken and witty dwarf, to the courageous bastard, to the beautiful mother of dragons, to the Princess in the North?

In episode 3 of the last season of the show, Arya not only saved the show, but all of humanity by killing the Night King. The most evil and coldest (in every sense of the word) character in the show.

To most of viewers it was a huge surprise. We all expected one of the main characters of the show to battle-it-out with the Night King. And while Arya is a main character, she was not whom we all expected. But perhaps we should have…

According to hints throughout the show, she is Azor Ahai, or the Prince that was promised to bring the dawn:

The long night is coming. Only the prince who was promised can bring the dawn

Melisandre of Asshai – Red Priestess

The prophecy was written in high valyrian, which according to Missandei, a high valyrian expert, says:

That noun has no gender in high valyrian. So the proper translation for that prophecy would be “the prince or princess that was promised will bring the dawn”

Missandei – Queen’s Personal Advisor

Given John Snow is the rightful heir, and King in the North, that makes his sister, Arya, a princess.
