Trump’s impeachment is almost certain

The house of representatives released today a resolution "Impeaching Donald John Trump, President of the United States". The full resolution can be found here. Congress settled on two articles of impeachment; Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress. The former, stems 100% from the request by Trump, asking the Ukrainian government "for a favor". Most of the hearings regarding impeachment, both in the intelligence committee and the judiciary committee, revolved around this impeachable offence. The second article of impeachment is about Trump's direction to members, officials and offices...

Judicial Committee Impeachment Hearings – Day 1

Day 1 of the impeachment hearings took place today. Much like the hearings in the house intelligence committee, the hearings were split between both parties. There were 4 witnesses, all law scholars. 3 seem to be clear supporters of impeachment; Noah Feldman, Pamela Karlan and Micheal Gerhardt. The fourth law scholar was Jonathan Turley. The support was stark, the three were there for the democrats and the fourth was there for the republicans. So much so, that when it came time to question them, the democrats asked broad...

A truck for a new century

Tesla has been hard at work in the past few years. While they had great initial success with their Model S and Model X, both were geared towards the luxury segment. This approach worked really well to get the marque into the minds of the American and global public. Tesla's next step was to lower the barrier of entry for their vehicles. In mid-2017, Tesla's entry model, the Model 3 was released. This was the first all-electric vehicle to have a range of over 300 miles and starting...

Unsinkable metals?

Imagine ships and boats being made out of a metal that could never be sunk. A material which even with holes all around it had buoyancy, and as such, would always floated back to the surface. First, let's talk about what makes a boat float. In order for a boat, or ship to float above water it has to displace more water than its weight. Meaning that if a boat weighs x, it has to displace water equaling x + 1. Certain vessels use this approach, plus something...

Why does soda explode when you shake it?

There are some things that happen in life for which we do not have an explanation. Like, what is in fact gravity? Or where is the matter in the Universe? Find out why soda explodes when shaken and if salt makes ice colder. As a bonus, you can also figure out how a circle and sometimes get entangled with a chain.

Day 5 of the impeachment hearings, Trump will join the club

There is absolutely no way that after the testimony by Dr. Hill and Mr. Holmes Trump will not be impeached. If Ambassador Sondland massacred Trump's alibi and call for innocence yesterday, Dr. Hill and Mr. Holmes came back to finish the job. Their testimony was so compelling and corroborated the whistle-blower's account so clearly, that during questioning by Trump's defenders, most chose to use their time to make statements rather than ask questions. The latter proposition proved too dangerous as Texas representative John Ratcliffe found out when he...

Day 4 of the impeachment hearings, Sondland left a massacre

Yesterday I talked about how Trump's defenders had done a reasonably good job on day 3 of the impeachment hearings. Day 4 was not so kind, in fact, it has horrible. Sondland, one of the key figures in this whole inquiry and the ambassador to the EU, testified that he had a clear understanding from the President that a quid pro quo was on the line if the Ukrainian President was hoping to get a meeting in Washington. This is the very notion Trump and his defenders have...

Day 3 of the impeachment hearings, Trump defenders did a good job

I have been watching the impeachment procedures through the eyes of Trump defenders. I know the democrats want to impeach Trump. There is very little I can learn by listening or watching their questioning. Instead, I have been purposely fast-forwarding to the points in the hearings where Trump's defenders question the witnesses. I want to see if I'm missing something. Perhaps, like Devin Nunez claims, this is all a hoax. On a separate note, Nunez cannot, even if he tried, make himself more into a caricature of a...

Day 2 of the impeachment hearings, much of the same

The second day of the public impeachment hearings happened on Friday and as you can expect, it was much of the same show. The democrats talked positively about the former ambassador, Marie Yovanovitch, and questioned her on basic points around Trump's motives behind her firing. While the republicans focused mainly on whether or not the chairman of the committee, Adam Schiff, would have the whistle-blower testify in public. The rational of the people defending Trump is that without the whistle-blower, we would have never found out about any...

Natural resources vs. National wealth

A lot of us take a lot of things for granted. From the simple things in life like being able to breath clean air and depending on safe drinking water. We simply assume these things just happen. That's what the government is there to do. We often forget that while this is true, it is the government's job to make sure there are safety measures in place to avoid a catastrophe, it is us, the people, that put that government in place. Therefore, if we do not vote...
