The silliness and craziness hit a new high this week when Trump unveiled his proposal for a makeover of Air Force One. In an interview with ABC news where Trump discussed various topics, including whether or not he would accept help from a foreign country to win an election (he said he would), he revealed his plans to repaint the iconic plane, Air Force One. The cost of the repaint? Over $3 billion. That is simply insane. Like always, Trump did a poor job communicating much more than his ego would allow as to the reasons or requirements for the repaint. And unless I understand it differently, this is the very type of wasteful spending Trump campaigned against.
The irony of Trump and his campaign promises have become the joke in itself. Almost everything he promised, everything he told his supporters he would, or not do, he’s has done the opposite. He promised “law and order“, and he’s delivered lawlessness and chaos in his administration. Trump has had more officials resign or pushed out, than any other administration I can remember. He promised to “make deals and get along with people across the aisle“, he’s delivered no deals and more polarization. Remember his son-in-law would take care of the problems in the Middle East? How is Iran coming along? And I won’t even mention his absolute failures with North Korea, Russia, China and worst, our own allies.
The only promised he’s kept is that we’d be tired of winning. He’s is right. I am tired. If this is what he defines as winning, indeed, we have been winning so much, color me tired.
