NPD Symptoms: #7 – Monopolize conversations and belittle or look down on people they perceive as inferior

#npd #trump #2020Election

In our series of NPD symptoms expressed by Trump, we’ve reached one that I had not seen to this extent yet. In the past, at rallies, interviews, or speeches, he’d shown it with “little” nicknames he uses for people. Remember sleepy…, low-energy…, crooked…, shady…, and on and on. They are actually funny, even if he uses them to belittle people. Only, these attacks are Trump while in public, and he knows it. He knows he has to be likeable, even funny. What we end up seeing is the brighter side of his narcissism. The real parts, the darker side, he tries to keep hidden and away from the camera. On camera, he’s the guy you’d want to hang out with. He’s one of us.

Yet, if you have to interact with Trump on a daily-basis, in private, away from prying eyes, he appears to be much worse as the clip below shows.

His very own Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, in front of national television, was belittled for coughing and interrupting the propaganda Trump was spouting. Something about a “A fantastic financial statement“. In his little mind, the media, and his minions, have done such a job that Trump actually thinks he makes sense. I’m afraid this is his biggest accomplishment. He’s gotten the world to take him seriously. At any other time, under any other circumstance, he’d be the butt of the joke, yet, in our current political environment he’s managed to turn the tables on us.
