After much anticipation, the articles of impeachment have been sent over to the senate for a trial. The house of representatives voted, last night, to send the articles of impeachment to the senate, and today they were delivered.
Chief Justice will preside over the trial and will swear in the jurors, the senate, today. The trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday the 21st of January and will be prosecuted by the following 7 managers from the house of representatives:
- Adam Schiff, the lead manager, of California
- Jerry Nadler of New York
- Hakeem Jeffries of New York
- Jason Crow of Colorado
- Zoe Lofgren of California
- Val Demings of Florida
- Sylvia Garcia of Texas.
At this point, there is no news on whether or not there will be witnesses called. One of the reasons we believed Pelosi was holding off the sending of the articles of impeachment to the senate, was to try to negotiate more fairer rules, as the democrats saw them, in the trial. Given McConnell stated last week that said rules had been agreed upon without democratic input, we still do not know how fair, or unfair, the trial will be.
As part of the ongoing circus that is the Trump presidency, one of Giuliani’s Ukraine associates, Lev Parnas, said Trump and Giuliani were aware of what was happening with Ukraine.
President Trump knew exactly what was going on. He was aware of all my movements. I wouldn’t do anything without the consent of Rudy Giuliani or the president. I have no intent, I have no reason to speak to any of these officials. I mean, they have no reason to speak to me.

The accusation, against any other person, would be a political disaster. A smoking bullet, a slam-dunk. Not so, to Trump. So while Mr. Parnas statements would seem pertinent for the trial, we will have to wait and see how Trump and his accomplices manage to turn Parnas’ words to their advantage, or silence them altogether.
There is only one thing that is certain, that Trump has been impeached and as such, is only the 4th President in the history of this nation to share this disgrace.
